Monster Energy Cake

This 30th birthday celebrant loves his Monster Energy drink.  His wife ordered the cake as a surprise for her husband.  It is marble cake with buttercream frosting.  It is covered in black fondant.  The logo and the birthday message is hand piped using royal icing.  I used luster dust to pain the top and the bottom of the can silver.

Stella Beer & Tacos Cake

This cake was specially made for one of my best friend's 30th.  I wanted a unique cake that represented some of her favorite things.  With suggestions and help from our other friends, we thought that beer and tacos would be perfect!  The expression on her face when she saw the cake was priceless!  She was absolutely in love with the cake!

Stella Artois is her favorite beer.  The bottle is hand carved and shaped into a bottle.  It is almond cake and is filled with chocolate ganache and sliced almonds.  The cake is coated with chocolate frosting and is covered with green fondant.

One of her favorite fast food is Taco Bell and she loves tacos.  They are made with Rice Krispies Treats.  I used chocolate frosting to cover the Rice Krispies to imitate the ground beef.  The sour cream is buttercream frosting and the cheese and lettuce are fondant.  I didn't put any tomatoes on the tacos because she doesn't eat tomatoes.  The taco wrappers were from Taco Bell.  Sent the dear husband on a mission to get me a couple and they kindly gave him a few.

Close up on some of the details.  The Stella logos are edible prints.  I used edible markers for the birthday message and the black specks on the taco shells.  The gold lines are hand painted using luster dust.

Candy & Sweets Cake

How cute is this cake?  This cake was for a little girl's 1st birthday.  This cake is my version of the Puerto Rican "wet" cake (soaked with a simple syrup flavored with brandy).  It is filled with almond buttercream.  The cake is covered in fondant and the border is piped using buttercream.

All the candy and sweet details are made with fondant and gum paste.

The ice cream topper is completely edible.  The ice cream bowl is made out of gum paste.  The ice cream scoops are made out of rice krispies treats and then covered with fondant.  It is garnished with whipped cream, adorable cherries, hot fudge (all made out of fondant) and is topped off with chocolate sprinkles.

The chocolate truffle, the colorful lollipops and the chocolate bar are all hand made out of fondant.  The chocolate truffle is topped off with chocolate sprinkles.

Popcorn Cupcakes

Loved making these popcorn cupcakes that was for a carnival themed baby shower.  Half of the cupcakes were chocolate and the other half were vanilla cupcakes.  The cupcakes were frosted with vanilla buttercream.  I used mini marshmallows to make the popcorn and I colored it with edible yellow luster dust.

Halloween Cake

Trick or Treat!  This spooky yet cute Halloween cake was made for my little cousin.  Vanilla cake filled with alternating layers of strawberry filling and vanilla buttercream.  It is covered with purple buttercream frosting and I used fondant appliqués to decorate the cake.  The jack-o'-lantern is made out of cake and covered with fondant.  The ghost and the bats are also made out of fondant and used wood skewers to hold them up (allowed to harden over night).  Used candy corn and assorted halloween plastic toppers as the finishing touches.
