Candy & Sweets Cake

How cute is this cake?  This cake was for a little girl's 1st birthday.  This cake is my version of the Puerto Rican "wet" cake (soaked with a simple syrup flavored with brandy).  It is filled with almond buttercream.  The cake is covered in fondant and the border is piped using buttercream.

All the candy and sweet details are made with fondant and gum paste.

The ice cream topper is completely edible.  The ice cream bowl is made out of gum paste.  The ice cream scoops are made out of rice krispies treats and then covered with fondant.  It is garnished with whipped cream, adorable cherries, hot fudge (all made out of fondant) and is topped off with chocolate sprinkles.

The chocolate truffle, the colorful lollipops and the chocolate bar are all hand made out of fondant.  The chocolate truffle is topped off with chocolate sprinkles.

The third one is chocolate cupcake with an Oreo cookie on the bottom. It's topped off with Oreo buttercream & garnished with an Oreo cookie.

The fourth one is chocolate cupcake with chocolate chips inside. It has chocolate frosting and is topped off with chocolate sprinkles.

Popcorn Cupcakes

Loved making these popcorn cupcakes that was for a carnival themed baby shower.  Half of the cupcakes were chocolate and the other half were vanilla cupcakes.  The cupcakes were frosted with vanilla buttercream.  I used mini marshmallows to make the popcorn and I colored it with edible yellow luster dust.

This cake was designed with the birthday celebrant in mind, someone that loves Guinness beer and golf.  It is a chocolate cake filled with vanilla buttercream.  The cake is covered in fondant.  The Guinness Beer cup on top is also made out of cake.

The side of the cake is decorated with a black argyle pattern.  All the details such as the golf ball and the golf club are made out of fondant.  The grass is piped using green royal icing.

Halloween Cake

Trick or Treat!  This spooky yet cute Halloween cake was made for my little cousin.  Vanilla cake filled with alternating layers of strawberry filling and vanilla buttercream.  It is covered with purple buttercream frosting and I used fondant appliqués to decorate the cake.  The jack-o'-lantern is made out of cake and covered with fondant.  The ghost and the bats are also made out of fondant and used wood skewers to hold them up (allowed to harden over night).  Used candy corn and assorted halloween plastic toppers as the finishing touches.

Olivia the Pig Cake

I had so much fun making this adorable Olivia the Pig Cake.  The color theme for this cake are red, sea foam green and white.  Loved this color combination.  The cake itself is Vanilla cake with Vanilla buttercream.  To add to the cuteness, the 3 layers of the cake (inside) are also colored red, sea foam green and pink.

Olivia was hand made out of gum paste and fondant.  I think she came out really cute.  The lollipops are also hand made out of gum paste and fondant.
The birthday girl's name and the number 3 is free formed out of fondant.

A closer look on the details of the cake.

Here's a picture of what the cake looked like inside.  Loved the way it turned out.

Floral Buttercream Cake

This simple, yet adorable floral cake was for my dearest mother-in-law.  It is an almond cake covered with almond buttercream.  The flowers and leaves are hand piped using colored almond buttercream.  White sugar pearls are used to accent the yellow flowers.

Inside the cake, there are 2 layers of Guava filling and a layer of almond buttercream in the middle. Yum!
